This role focuses on managing and analyzing promotional performance across major retail and e-commerce partners. You will maintain the promotional calendar, track pricing, discounts, and funding details, and deliver regular reporting on sales and promotional effectiveness. Your analysis will measure lift against baseline, return on investment, and margin impact to guide strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end promotional calendar, ensuring alignment with financial and strategic objectives.
- Monitor and report on promotional execution, tracking key details such as timing, pricing, and funding across channels.
- Deliver weekly performance reports on sales and promotional outcomes using data from POS and retail partners.
- Analyze the impact of promotions, including changes in volume, revenue, and profitability.
- Track competitor promotional activity and provide actionable insights to refine promotional tactics.
- Collaborate with Finance on forecasting, accruals, and performance reconciliation.
- Work with sales teams to integrate promotional plans into broader revenue forecasts.
- Develop, refine, and automate reporting using Excel and business intelligence platforms.
- Identify emerging trends, risks, and opportunities related to promotional activity.
Qualifications
Candidates should have 2–5+ years in sales, retail, or promotional analytics. Proficiency in Excel and BI tools is essential, along with experience handling weekly sales, point-of-sale, or promotional data. You must be detail-oriented, capable of cross-functional collaboration, and skilled at translating data into clear insights.
Preferred experience includes working with major accounts such as Amazon, Best Buy, or Walmart, or in direct-to-consumer channels. A background in consumer electronics, hardware, or CPG is beneficial. Familiarity with Tableau, Power BI, pricing tools, or competitive intelligence platforms is a plus, as is knowledge of forecasting, margin analysis, or inventory dynamics.
Work Environment
This position offers hybrid work options for candidates in the Bay Area, requiring three days per week onsite in San Jose.
