As a Security Engineer specializing in cloud security, you will be responsible for protecting critical cloud infrastructure within a highly regulated healthcare environment. Your work will ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems built on Microsoft Azure, while enabling engineering teams to innovate securely.
Key Responsibilities
- Secure Azure resources such as virtual machines, databases, and storage accounts through configuration hardening and continuous monitoring.
- Operate and optimize Microsoft Defender for Cloud and Microsoft Sentinel for threat detection, response, and security posture management.
- Implement security policies as code using Terraform and ARM templates to enforce consistent, auditable controls across environments.
- Lead security reviews of cloud architectures and conduct threat modeling to identify and mitigate risks early in the development lifecycle.
- Partner with DevOps and software engineering teams to integrate security practices into infrastructure-as-code workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
- Support incident investigations and maintain comprehensive, compliance-ready documentation for audits and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Proven experience securing Azure environments, including hands-on work with Defender for Cloud and Sentinel.
- Solid knowledge of identity and access management principles, including least privilege and identity protection strategies.
- Familiarity with compliance standards such as ISO 27001, NIST CSF, and HIPAA in cloud contexts.
- Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform and ARM templates for automated security enforcement.
- Experience integrating SIEM and SOAR platforms with cloud-native monitoring and logging solutions.
Work Environment
This is a Remote-First role with flexible scheduling and a strong emphasis on work-life balance. Engineers in Stockholm may visit the office periodically, typically once every one to two weeks. The team gathers in person a few times per year for collaboration and planning.
