Shape the future of digital home exploration by solving advanced perception problems using machine learning and computer vision. As a Senior Applied Scientist, you'll develop models that enable deeper, data-driven understanding of residential spaces, directly enhancing how users experience virtual tours.
What You’ll Do
- Define and resolve complex perception challenges using scientific rigor and engineering best practices.
- Partner with product, engineering, and design teams to turn user needs into actionable research and technical solutions.
- Design, train, and refine deep learning models for spatial and visual understanding, ensuring they perform reliably in real-world conditions.
- Build evaluation frameworks and run experiments to validate model accuracy and robustness.
- Deploy models into production, overseeing data pipelines, monitoring, and continuous improvement cycles.
- Guide team members on modeling techniques, research standards, and experimental design.
- Communicate technical insights and decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in applied science roles focused on machine learning or computer vision with real-world datasets.
- Proficiency in Python and at least one deep learning framework such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX.
- Proven experience shipping and maintaining production ML systems, including deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
- Solid foundation in probability, statistics, and experimental design, applied to real-world evaluation strategies.
- Ability to develop resilient solutions when working with incomplete or noisy data.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset, with experience in cross-functional environments.
- Experience navigating ambiguous or emerging problem spaces is a plus.
Preferred Background
- Work on spatial reasoning, geometric modeling, or multi-sensor fusion problems.
- Contributions to the ML or computer vision community through publications, patents, or open-source projects.
Technology Environment
Work with Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, and tools for building and managing machine learning pipelines—from data ingestion to model deployment and monitoring.
Work Environment
This role supports remote work across all 50 U.S. states, with no requirement to report to a central office. You’ll operate in a flexible, inclusive culture that values innovation, collaboration, and personal growth.
