As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll play a key role in evolving a high-scale, multi-tenant travel commerce engine powered by artificial intelligence. Your focus will be on refining backend systems to support intelligent agent operations, enabling faster, safer, and more autonomous development cycles from concept to deployment.
What You'll Do
- Enhance code architecture to improve performance and safety for AI agents operating across complex workflows
- Design scalable patterns and foundational services that accelerate the launch of new customer-facing portals
- Leverage AI to draft clear technical documentation and drive consensus in an asynchronous, high-autonomy environment
- Orchestrate AI agents to build and deploy full-stack features with minimal oversight, from UX to data layer
- Collaborate with product managers and business stakeholders to shape roadmap priorities and technical direction
- Establish automated guardrails and feedback mechanisms to ensure reliability and efficiency in AI-driven development
- Train, deploy, and continuously refine large language models to power intelligent product capabilities
What We're Looking For
- Proven ability to navigate and improve complex, unfamiliar codebases with speed and precision
- Experience directing AI-powered workflows to design and maintain robust, distributed systems
- Strong architectural judgment with a focus on long-term maintainability and customer impact
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, with hands-on expertise or a strong drive to master Scala
- Skill in giving and receiving candid, growth-oriented feedback within a collaborative engineering culture
