Shape the backbone of a global platform as a Senior Backend Engineer, working with Node.js and AWS to power a rapidly growing, scalable HR and payroll solution. You'll design and maintain high-throughput systems that support operations across more than 150 countries, ensuring reliability, security, and performance at scale.
What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver seamless, end-to-end features and APIs.
- Take ownership of system architecture decisions from planning through deployment, contributing across the full development lifecycle.
- Build and refine backend services that handle high-volume transactions, focusing on concurrency, idempotency, and fault tolerance.
- Drive quality and reliability by identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks and edge-case behaviors quickly.
- Ensure development remains customer-focused, delivering solutions that meet real-world needs with precision and care.
What We’re Looking For
- At least 8 years of professional software engineering experience, with strong command of Node.js and TypeScript/JavaScript best practices.
- Deep experience with PostgreSQL, including query optimization, schema design, and data migration strategies.
- Firm grasp of object-oriented programming and common design patterns in large-scale applications.
- Proven ability to architect scalable, resilient systems that support rapid growth and global reach.
- Hands-on experience building secure, scalable APIs with JWT authentication and message queuing systems.
- Familiarity with serverless architectures on AWS and operating SaaS platforms with 24/7 uptime requirements.
- Exposure to fintech domains and an understanding of compliance, data integrity, and financial workflows is a plus.
