Modash is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to build our core data products and creator search engine. You will own projects end-to-end, from idea to launch, working on impactful systems like indexing 350M+ influencer profiles and shaping the future of AI-assisted search.
What You'll Do
- Own projects end-to-end, from idea to launch.
- Build a creator search engine indexing 350M+ influencer profiles.
- Create an understanding of creators' location, age, and interests at scale.
- Create systems to extract audience demographics from raw social data.
- Shape the future of AI-assisted search, exploring how LLMs and embeddings can enhance search and recommendations.
- Create data products from scratch that directly impact customers.
What We're Looking For
- Solid experience as a Backend Engineer handling large-scale APIs.
- Strong experience with TypeScript and NodeJS.
- Hands-on experience with scraping, collecting, and/or processing data.
- Familiarity with the AWS ecosystem (Glue, EMR, DynamoDB, etc.).
- You’ve built full features from idea to production: planning & scoping → architecture → coding → release.
- Experience in a fast-paced startup with strong ownership.
- Care deeply about code quality and system design.
- You're based in Europe with at least a few hours overlap with GMT+3.
Nice to Have
- Have worked with AI/ML tools or LLMs.
- Are curious about the creator economy.

Team & Environment
You will join a team of 4 data engineers, working alongside 4 backend engineers. This role is part of the broader data organization, consisting of two closely aligned teams: Data Engineering (data platform, pipelines) and Backend Engineering (APIs, infrastructure, product features).
