Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the financial crime compliance framework in Japan, aligned with global standards.
- Set performance goals for the compliance team and oversee individual and departmental targets.
- Manage ongoing regulatory engagements, including audits, examinations, and requests related to anti-money laundering.
- Act as the primary liaison with regulators and financial partners on compliance-related matters.
- Design, implement, and update a comprehensive anti-money laundering program.
- Oversee daily operations such as enhanced due diligence approvals, name screening escalations, and filing suspicious activity reports.
- Provide guidance to commercial and operations teams on compliance requirements and risks.
- Collaborate with financial partners to respond to inquiries from banking and scheme partners.
- Establish monitoring and reporting mechanisms for senior management, audit committee, and board updates.
- Create performance reports to track the effectiveness of AML initiatives and key risk indicators.
- Coordinate cross-functionally to resolve findings from audits, self-assessments, and regulatory reviews.
- Strengthen internal controls to support compliance policies and operational procedures.
