Blackpoint Cyber is hiring a Senior Data Scientist to act as a technical lead within our A.I. business unit. In this role, you will be responsible for building out our data science solutions to support the development of A.I. products and features, directly advancing our cybersecurity mission.
What You'll Do
- Define, implement, train, and evaluate machine learning models.
- Design and implement algorithms to ingest, wrangle, and transform model input data.
- Conduct feature engineering to extract, construct, derive, and evaluate model inputs.
- Perform statistical analyses per stakeholder requirements and modeling objectives.
- Deploy models and feature engineering algorithms as scalable containerized solutions.
- Develop model governance utilities and dashboards to monitor, report, and visualize performance of deployed solutions.
- Implement data, feature, and model lifecycle best practices.
- Contribute to A.I. architecture and design decisions.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Security Operations Center (SOC), and Adversary Pursuit Group (APG).
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of hands-on Data Science experience, with a track record of delivering A.I. products and services into production.
- Experience building with a well-architected mindset—for efficiency, performance, security, and reliability.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency with cloud-based ML development (AWS), data ingestion & wrangling (Spark, EMR, SageMaker), and feature engineering (Feature Pipelines, Feature Store).
- Experience in model development, analysis, & deployment (SageMaker, Airflow).
- Knowledge of inference streams & event-driven processing (Kafka, Spark).
- Fluency in scripting (Python, Bash) and query languages (SQL, Ksql).
- Experience with containerized services (Docker, Kubernetes) and MLOps workflows (SageMaker, MLFlow).
- Adherence to GitFlow & DevOps best practices.
Nice to Have
- Expertise in Time-Series Analysis.
- Experience with Transformer Neural Nets.
- Familiarity with Agile Scrum methodologies.
- Programming skills in Scala or Java.
- Industry experience in Cybersecurity, IoT, or NLP.
