In this role, you'll design and enhance predictive models that determine credit eligibility and pricing for customers across multiple African countries. What You’ll Do
- Develop and refine machine learning models for credit scoring, default prediction, and risk-based pricing using real-world repayment data
- Run A/B tests and statistical evaluations to optimize loan approval rules and pricing strategies
- Identify new predictive features, monitor model performance, and adapt to changing risk patterns across markets
- Work closely with engineering, product, and business teams to implement models at scale and ensure alignment with commercial goals
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in building classification or regression models, especially in credit risk, underwriting, or lending analytics
- Strong technical skills in Python, SQL, and core ML libraries such as scikit-learn, pandas, and numpy
- Experience with full-cycle model development—from ideation and feature engineering to deployment and monitoring
- Ability to communicate complex analytical results clearly to non-technical audiences
- Track record of collaborating across technical and business functions to deliver impactful solutions
Preferred Background
- Direct experience in fintech, credit modeling, or underwriting analytics
