As a Senior Data Scientist on the Admin Experience team, you’ll play a key role in shaping how organizations adopt and grow with Canva. You'll combine deep product understanding with advanced analytics to uncover insights that directly influence product development and strategic direction.
What You’ll Do
- Use data to identify growth opportunities and inform product enhancements through rigorous analysis
- Design and evaluate experiments based on behavioural patterns and user research to validate new ideas
- Develop meaningful metrics, define event tracking, and build dashboards that guide data-driven decision-making
- Lead feature launches from planning to evaluation, ensuring metrics are well-defined and results are clearly communicated
- Inform product roadmaps by surfacing actionable insights from user behaviour and business trends
- Create efficient, scalable analytics systems and explore AI-driven solutions to boost productivity across teams
What We’re Looking For
- Demonstrated experience using data to shape product strategy and deliver measurable business outcomes
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience working with large datasets and modern data warehouse platforms
- Ability to think critically about metrics—designing, forecasting, and interpreting them with precision
- Experience designing and analyzing experiments, defining analytic events, and building reliable data pipelines
- Familiarity with product-led growth models, including funnel analysis, growth accounting, and event instrumentation
- Clear and effective communication skills, especially in translating complex findings into actionable insights
Work Environment
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract with full remote flexibility across Australia and New Zealand.
