Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize database systems by overseeing maintenance, patching, and upgrades; lead performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization for critical high-volume applications.
- Design and implement backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and system stability for payment processing environments.
- Automate database provisioning and operations using Terraform, aligning with infrastructure-wide Infrastructure as Code standards.
- Plan and carry out complex data migrations and conversions in production with minimal downtime and risk, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
- Develop monitoring solutions including dashboards, alerts, and performance metrics to proactively detect and resolve database issues.
- Provide technical leadership by mentoring engineers, advising on database architecture, and communicating risks and action plans to stakeholders.
