Shape the future of infrastructure as a Senior DevOps Lead, taking charge of a pivotal transition from fully outsourced operations to a hybrid model with internal leadership. You'll assume full ownership of a production-grade AWS environment, ensuring stability, security, and scalability while building the foundation for long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical execution and strategic planning—design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure using Terraform and AWS with an emphasis on modularity and reusability
- Take over and refine existing DevOps workflows, establishing clear internal processes and governance
- Break down complex infrastructure initiatives into actionable deliverables and guide a team of nine contractors through implementation
- Strengthen infrastructure as code (IaC) standards to ensure consistency and reliability across environments
- Own security posture, compliance alignment, and cost efficiency across AWS services
- Design, optimize, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and AWS CodeBuild
- Partner with engineering teams to meet application performance, availability, and scalability targets
- Develop a forward-looking infrastructure roadmap that supports new product development and organizational growth
- Coach and mentor contractors of varying experience levels, fostering skill development and team cohesion
- Improve monitoring, alerting, and incident response using DataDog and CloudWatch to reduce downtime and improve system resilience
What You Bring
- 10+ years in DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering, with at least 3 years in leadership roles
- Proven mastery of AWS services including ECS, EKS, EC2, S3, databases, VPCs, and IAM
- Extensive experience writing modular, reusable Terraform code for large-scale deployments
- Hands-on work with containerized environments and orchestration platforms (ECS/EKS)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and AWS CodeBuild
- Experience operating and optimizing production databases including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, CouchDB, and OpenSearch
- Solid understanding of networking, security protocols, and systems operations at scale
- Leadership experience—able to define scope, delegate tasks, and drive projects to completion
- Clear communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Self-directed and proactive—capable of driving change independently
Preferred Background
- Exposure to multi-cloud environments including GCP or Azure
- Experience managing external contractor teams
- Track record of scaling infrastructure in mid-sized organizations (100–300 employees)

Work Environment
This is a remote-first role open to candidates in the U.S. (preferred), the Balkan region of Europe, and South America. While fully remote, the role may require occasional travel for team meetups, customer engagements, or company-wide events. Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive base salary: $130,000–$170,000 (US), $50,000–$70,000 (Balkans), $40,000–$60,000 (South America)
