Pasir Gudang, Malaysia On-site

Brooks Automation is hiring a Senior Financial Analyst

About the Role

Role Overview

This position is central to the financial health and insight of our semiconductor manufacturing site in Malaysia. As the on-site finance partner, you will work directly within the plant environment while reporting to a U.S.-based finance leader. Your focus will be on delivering accurate, timely financial analysis that supports operational decisions and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead monthly financial close activities specific to the Malaysia manufacturing unit, with emphasis on inventory valuation, cost reporting, and variance analysis.
  • Act as the main point of contact for financial planning and analysis within the plant, collaborating closely with operations and cost accounting teams.
  • Examine differences between standard and actual costs, including material price variances, labor efficiency, and overhead application.
  • Support inventory management processes such as reconciliation, aging reviews, excess and obsolete (E&O) risk assessment, and working capital tracking.
  • Provide financial oversight during product transitions and new production ramp-ups, ensuring cost readiness and performance monitoring post-launch.
  • Convert operational data—such as throughput, yield, scrap rates, and labor utilization—into meaningful financial forecasts and variance explanations.
  • Develop and maintain clear, consistent, and audit-ready financial models and reporting templates.
  • Identify and implement improvements in financial reporting processes, including automation opportunities to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support plant finance objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; equivalent professional experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 to 8 years of experience in manufacturing finance, operations finance, or cost accounting roles.
  • Proven understanding of standard costing systems, variance analysis methodologies, and inventory accounting principles.
  • Direct experience with month-end close procedures in a manufacturing context.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with plant teams and translate operational performance into financial insights.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience extracting and analyzing data from ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP.
  • Capacity to work independently in a fast-paced, evolving production environment.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across global teams and time zones.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting new site launches, product transfers, or manufacturing scale-ups.
  • Background in inventory controls, E&O analysis, and working capital optimization.
  • Direct collaboration with plant-level cost accounting teams.
  • Familiarity with financial automation or analytics platforms such as Adaptive Planning or Power BI.
  • Advanced degree or additional training in data analytics is highly desirable.

Technical Environment

You'll work with enterprise systems including Oracle and SAP for financial data, Adaptive Planning for forecasting, and Power BI for reporting and visualization.

Work Environment

This is an onsite role based in Pasir Gudang, Johor Bahru, with potential for flexible arrangements depending on business needs. You’ll operate within a collaborative, global finance network that values transparency, innovation, and continuous improvement.
