Role Overview
This position plays a central role in shaping financial strategy through detailed analysis of cash flow, operational performance, and business metrics. The Senior Financial Analyst ensures accurate and timely reporting by gathering data across systems, evaluating trends, and delivering insights that inform leadership decisions at the highest levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the collection and analysis of financial and operational data to support monthly business unit reporting and performance evaluation against budget and forecast
- Conduct variance and trend analysis, including year-over-year comparisons, to identify key drivers and risks
- Develop and refine financial models to improve forecasting precision and operational efficiency
- Support the preparation of cash flow components such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, capital expenditures, interest, and working capital
- Generate recurring and on-demand financial reports for senior executives and strategic planning sessions
- Contribute to quarterly earnings processes, including data preparation, presentation materials, and supporting documentation
- Assist in creating Board-level content, including capital allocation summaries and quarterly overviews
- Provide analytical support for external engagements, including materials for ratings agencies and investor communications
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
- Minimum of five years of experience in financial analysis or a similar role
- Strong analytical capabilities with experience resolving complex financial issues
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines while maintaining high accuracy
- Proven independence and initiative, with the ability to collaborate effectively in team settings
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including functions such as XLOOKUP and SUMIFS
- Experience with financial planning and reporting systems such as Hyperion
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly with executive stakeholders
Preferred
- Five or more years in the energy sector
- Advanced degree (e.g., MBA) or professional certification (e.g., CPA)
- Experience with SAP and Power Query or similar automation tools
- Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word for executive reporting
Work Environment
This role operates in a hybrid model, combining remote work with four days per week in the office. The position requires adaptability in a fast-moving, results-driven setting with frequent deadlines and shifting priorities.
Compensation & Benefits
The base salary range for this role is $106,700 – $132,900. Additional compensation includes an annual bonus, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards.
