As a Senior Firmware Test Automation Engineer, you will drive the creation and refinement of automated testing frameworks for enterprise-grade server firmware. Your work will focus on validating critical components including BIOS, BMC, and Root-of-Trust systems across multiple product lines, ensuring reliability, security, and compliance throughout the development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites using Python and Robot Framework, integrated within CI/CD pipelines via Jenkins, GitLab, and GitHub.
- Define and execute test strategies covering functional, regression, performance, security, and interoperability validation.
- Collaborate with firmware, hardware, and QA teams to debug issues, analyze root causes, and verify fixes.
- Review technical specifications and translate them into comprehensive test cases and validation plans.
- Lead automation architecture decisions, ensuring scalability and reusability across platforms.
- Ensure full test coverage from early development through production release.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement of testing methodologies.
Qualifications
Candidates should have at least five years of experience in firmware testing or automation, with deep familiarity in server firmware validation. Proficiency in Python, OpenBMC automation, and tools such as Jira, Bugzilla, and Jenkins is essential. Knowledge of industry standards including UEFI, ACPI, PCIe, IPMI, Redfish, DMTF, PLDM, SPDM, TPM, and OCP is required. A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science is expected; a master’s degree is advantageous. Experience with embedded systems or server platforms is highly valued.
