Lazer is hiring a Senior Front End Engineer focused on the Shopify ecosystem to join our remote team. You will be part of Lazer Commerce, a specialized group building scalable commerce experiences. In this role, you'll collaborate directly with clients to craft custom storefronts and user experiences using modern front-end technologies.
What You'll Do
- Build custom Shopify storefronts and themes using Liquid, React, and modern front-end frameworks.
- Develop and optimize headless Shopify experiences using Next.js and Remix.
- Translate design mockups and business requirements into high-quality, accessible code.
- Integrate third-party apps and APIs to enhance store functionality.
- Implement and maintain reusable components, custom features, and UI logic.
- Collaborate with designers, full-stack developers, and project managers.
- Stay up to date with Shopify platform updates and front-end development trends.
What We're Looking For
- Strong experience with Liquid and custom Shopify theme development.
- Solid professional experience building interfaces with React and TypeScript.
- Hands-on experience with Remix and Next.js in production environments.
- Comfortable working with headless commerce and integrating the Shopify Storefront API.
- Strong understanding of front-end performance optimization and accessibility best practices.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in a remote setting.
- Detail-oriented and passionate about creating excellent user experiences.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Hydrogen.
- Familiarity with Shopify Functions and Matrixify.
- Knowledge of internationalization and localization in e-commerce.
- Prior experience at an agency or in a consulting environment.
- Understanding of animation libraries or design systems for e-commerce.
- Styling with Tailwind CSS.
