Deputy is hiring a Senior Frontend Engineer, Design Systems

Responsibilities

  • Develop and sustain robust UI components that precisely match design specifications
  • Leverage artificial intelligence tools to speed up component development, iteration, and refinement
  • Review and verify AI-produced code for correctness, accessibility, and design consistency
  • Define and evolve the design system to support machine readability and AI integration
  • Support workflows that translate design into code using AI, ensuring components include necessary metadata for AI processing
  • Find and implement AI-driven solutions to minimize manual work in building and maintaining components
  • Collaborate closely with design teams through critiques and exploratory sessions
  • Offer technical insights during design phases to ensure feasibility and scalability
  • Educate designers on practices that enhance AI-powered development workflows
  • Enhance connections between design platforms like Figma and engineering deliverables
  • Apply AI to automatically generate documentation, specifications, and usage guidance
  • Investigate AI-supported methods for testing visual changes, accessibility, and validation
  • Experiment with novel AI-enhanced processes for design system workflows
  • Ensure close alignment between visual design and final implementation
  • Uphold accessibility and inclusive design principles across all components
  • Help define shared standards that increase consistency between design and code
  • Produce clear documentation and examples usable by both designers and developers
  • Assist product teams in effectively adopting and using the design system
  • Promote efficient workflows that maintain high quality while increasing development speed
