About the Role

Hatch Innovations is looking for a Senior iOS Development Lead to build a visually stunning and technically excellent mobile application for Electronic Arts. You will lead the technical vision, architecture, and execution for the iOS platform, while mentoring and growing a team of engineers.

What You'll Do

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of iOS engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Drive the technical vision, architecture, roadmap, and execution for the iOS platform.
  • Collaborate with product management, design, and other engineering leaders to define requirements and prioritize features.
  • Oversee the end-to-end development lifecycle to ensure timely delivery of high-quality software.
  • Champion best practices for code quality, testing, and performance to build a robust and scalable application.
  • Manage project execution, set clear goals, manage resources, and remove obstacles for your team.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the iOS technology stack and its latest advancements.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum of 10 years of professional software development experience with a focus on mobile.
  • Minimum of 5 years in an engineering leadership role, directly managing a team of engineers.
  • Strong technical background with hands-on experience developing native iOS apps using Swift, UIKit, and SwiftUI.
  • Proven track record of shipping high-quality, consumer-facing iOS applications with a focus on UI/UX and performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical architecture and design discussions and drive technical decision-making.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and the full mobile development lifecycle.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think strategically and execute methodically.
  • Must be a resident of Canada and eligible to work in Canada.
  • Ability to work during Pacific Time Zone regular business hours.
  • Flexibility to attend remote meetings during the evening when required.

Nice to Have

  • Experience managing remote or distributed engineering teams.
  • Experience with Core Animation, Metal, or other graphics-intensive frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Objective-C, C, or C++.
  • Experience with performance profiling and optimization tools.
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines for mobile apps.
  • Experience building social media mobile applications.
