About the Role
This contract position requires a self-driven administrator to work with minimal supervision in a dynamic, startup-like environment, handling diverse technical responsibilities across infrastructure, automation, and cloud platforms.
Responsibilities
- Carry out routine Linux and network system management duties
- Set up and configure network hardware including switches, firewalls, and load balancers, as well as LDAP services
- Deploy new server systems
- Establish monitoring through Nagios configurations
- Maintain and modify Puppet configuration files
- Develop scripts to automate operational tasks
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues across systems
- Construct cloud infrastructure on AWS platforms
- Install and manage VMware-based server environments
- Record and maintain system configuration documentation
- Lead and coordinate project-related activities
- Deliver periodic updates on project status
- Reconfigure and transition development, quality assurance, staging, production, and backup data center systems using Dell hardware and VMware software

- Must be comfortable working independently on a small team, handling a wide variety of tasks with limited guidance
- Environment is similar to a start up environment where you will be asked to wear many hats
- The goal of this contract is to rebuild and migrate our dev, qa, staging, production and backup data center infrastructure with Dell hardware and VMWare software
