Role Overview
As a Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer, you will lead the architecture, deployment, and ongoing optimization of enterprise-grade network systems across on-premises and cloud environments. You'll serve as a technical authority, shaping network strategy and ensuring resilient, secure connectivity across LAN, WAN, WLAN, and hybrid cloud infrastructures.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable network solutions using routing, switching, and firewall technologies, with a focus on performance, redundancy, and future growth.
- Monitor network health, resolve critical issues, and manage system upgrades and patches to maintain continuous service availability and disaster recovery readiness.
- Enforce network security by configuring firewalls, IDS/IPS, and secure remote access solutions, working closely with cybersecurity teams to address threats.
- Document network topologies, configurations, and operational procedures, and deliver regular reports on capacity, performance, and incident resolution.
Qualifications
Required experience includes at least five years in network engineering, with two or more years in a senior or leadership capacity. You must hold a Cisco CCNA and demonstrate strong hands-on experience with Cisco Meraki, Zscaler, and Azure networking technologies. Certification in Azure networking is required, along with proven skills in network automation and monitoring tools.
Professional or life experience, including military service, may be considered in place of formal education. A background in scripting with Python, PowerShell, or Ansible is essential, as is familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP.
Preferred Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Advanced certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or cloud-specific credentials like AWS Certified Advanced Networking or Azure Network Engineer Associate.
- Experience with SD-WAN, load balancing, and advanced firewall systems.
- Working knowledge of Zero Trust frameworks, including identity-based access controls, micro-segmentation, and secure access services like Zscaler or Palo Alto Prisma Access.
- Familiarity with AI-powered networking tools and automation platforms.
