As a Senior Rust Backend Engineer, you’ll play a foundational role in creating a new crypto-native platform from scratch. You'll be responsible for designing and implementing the core backend architecture using Rust, focusing on real-time data processing, WebSocket infrastructure, and high-volume event pipelines that scale with performance in mind from day one.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain backend services handling thousands of concurrent sessions with sub-second latency.
- Design and implement a simulation engine that processes live market data with strict performance requirements.
- Develop risk assessment and evaluation logic, including real-time monitoring and automated decision systems.
- Create and deploy on-chain programs to record and validate platform activity across blockchain networks.
- Integrate real-time data sources such as WebSocket-based order books, oracle networks, and external liquidity providers.
- Own critical infrastructure components including RPC nodes, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and deployment workflows.
- Collaborate directly with the Head of Crypto on technical direction, feature prioritization, and architectural decisions.
What We’re Looking For
You have at least three years of professional experience in Rust and think naturally in systems and concurrency. You’re comfortable owning complex subsystems end-to-end and thrive in environments with evolving requirements. You prioritize shipping working solutions quickly, then refining them through iteration—especially when working toward aggressive milestones like a private demo in four months.
Your background includes building APIs, event-driven architectures, and real-time data services. You’re experienced in designing for high throughput and low latency, and you’re unafraid to operate with autonomy and ownership.
Preferred Experience
- Development on Solana or EVM-compatible blockchains, including smart contracts and on-chain data patterns.
- Work with trading systems, simulation logic, or risk engines.
- Exposure to DeFi protocols, oracle networks, or cross-chain infrastructure.
- Contributions to open-source projects or participation in hackathons.
- Proficiency in TypeScript or Node.js for tooling and integration testing.
