Responsibilities
- Develop and manage foundational infrastructure used daily by engineering teams, including cloud platforms, container orchestration, networking, pipelines, and monitoring tools.
- Investigate and resolve issues in high-scale, distributed systems handling large volumes of traffic.
- Maintain and enhance system observability to understand and optimize platform behavior.
- Support ongoing platform improvements such as upgrading edge services, caching layers, and gateways using Fastly, and strengthening monitoring capabilities.
- Improve system reliability by refining alerting practices, dashboard effectiveness, on-call preparedness, and incident management procedures.
- Simplify deployments through standardized workflows, pre-launch checks, gradual rollouts, and automation to reduce cognitive load on developers.
- Guide software engineers through code and architecture reviews, technical mentorship, and collaborative problem-solving.
- Join the on-call schedule and contribute to the successful implementation of developer-facing on-call processes.
