Responsibilities
- Develop, operate, and work with many different types of databases, both directly on Kubernetes or leveraging managed DB products
- Integrate with many different Open Source Software (OSS) projects that both power our microservices stack, monitoring infrastructure, and much more
- Drive, develop, and lead projects in Data Platform (NetDL)
- Drive, develop, and lead projects in Architecture and Performance
- Drive, develop, and lead projects in Capacity Planning
- Drive, develop, and lead projects in Autoscaling
- Drive, develop, and lead projects in Disaster Recovery
- Drive, develop, and lead projects in Observability
- Drive, develop, and lead projects in Change Management - CI/CD
- Drive, develop, and lead projects in Service Network Architecture
- Drive, develop, and lead projects in Cost Optimizations
- Drive, develop, and lead projects in Instructure and Cloud-First Application Security
- Join a globally distributed, “follow the sun model” on-call team
- Continuously improve operational processes by adding automation
- Lead sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems
Requirements
- Strong software engineering background
- Systems architecture knowledge
- Passion for operating production systems at scale
- Experience being part of a rapidly growing product
- Ability to develop, operate, and work with databases on Kubernetes or managed DB products
- Experience integrating with Open Source Software (OSS) projects
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with GCP (Google Cloud Platform)
- Familiarity with GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine)
- Proficiency in Golang
- Proficiency in Python
- Experience with Ansible or Pulumi
- Proficiency in Bash
