What You'll Do
Own the development and ongoing support of critical components within the PayPort payment platform. You'll be responsible for maintaining system uptime, optimizing performance, and resolving production issues that affect payment workflows. Your work will ensure seamless transaction processing and reliable integration with financial systems.
Design and implement scalable services that power payment processing and reporting features. Collaborate with Product, DevOps, and Finance teams to define technical requirements and deliver solutions that meet both business and compliance needs. You’ll also help improve system observability through monitoring, alerting, and performance tuning.
Guide junior engineers through mentorship and contribute to technical discussions, code reviews, and sprint planning. Play an active role in all phases of the software lifecycle—from design to deployment—while promoting best practices in testing, automation, and secure coding.
Requirements
- 5-8 years of professional software development experience
- Proven background in backend systems and service-oriented architectures
- Hands-on experience building or supporting payment platforms or financial infrastructure
- Strong coding skills in server-side languages and deep knowledge of SQL and database systems
- Working knowledge of cloud environments, particularly AWS
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, production support, and system monitoring
- Ability to troubleshoot complex issues in high-stakes, production-critical environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in payment processing, banking systems, or regulated financial sectors
- Experience developing bank or credit bureau reporting functionality
- Understanding of fault-tolerant, highly available system design
- Adaptability in fast-moving or resource-constrained settings
- Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset across technical and non-technical teams
