Dandy is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our CAD team and build advanced, manufacturing process-aware 3D algorithms. In this role, you will develop innovative workflows that enhance quality, throughput, and customer experience to support Dandy's mission of digitizing the dental lab industry.
What You'll Do
- Work cross-functionally to deliver practical solutions to real-world 3D problems across our engineering organization.
- Research, build, implement, and deploy algorithms that generate geometry for dental restorations.
- Build CAD tools that interface with robots, 3D printers, or subtractive manufacturing machines.
- Interface with deep learning models to integrate AI into the tools and experiences you are developing.
- Continuously deliver high-performance solutions that are reliable, well-tested, and delight our stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
- Fluency with fundamental 3D concepts, algorithms, and mesh processing.
- Strong C++ expertise to design, implement, and optimize geometry algorithms and production systems.
- Proficiency with one or more geometry processing or visualization libraries such as Meshlib, Open CASCADE, or CGAL.
- Specialization in geometrical or computational algorithms with an eagerness to leverage web technologies.
- Proficiency in developing computational geometry algorithms and integrating them into full-stack applications with user interaction.
- Experience with WASM bindings using Emscripten and C++, and WebGPU compute shaders for parallel processing.
- Experience implementing algorithms from research papers or academia.
- Demonstrated expertise building CAD/CAM or geometry inspection systems.
- Ability to make business-critical, technical decisions given a higher-level strategy.
- A strong team player with a high level of initiative and autonomy.
- An effective communicator around risks and trade-offs.
Nice to Have
- Experience with 3D modeling tools.
- Experience with UI frameworks or HTML and CSS.
- Experience building software that interfaces with machines or devices.
- Experience implementing advanced visualization in a cloud or distributed context.
- Experience with digital dental design tools.
- Experience with GPU technology: HLSL, GLSL, DirectX, Vulkan, Metal, or Cuda.
