Commerce is looking for a Senior Software Engineer specializing in backend development to join Feedonomics. You will work fully remote, collaborating on the architecture and development of scalable applications for a data-intensive SaaS platform.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate on the architecture, design, and development of scalable and highly available applications and services.
- Solve complex infrastructure-related problems with code and provide post-release support for scalable applications.
- Identify and implement enhancements to DevOps practices and tooling to strengthen the CI/CD pipeline.
- Drive technology design and articulate architecture solutions to product owners and Engineering leadership.
- Conduct post-mortems to analyze and prevent repeat failures.
- Champion Continuous Improvement in end-to-end infrastructure and systems.
- Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and processes to solve concrete business problems.
- Become a domain expert who follows industry trends, applies best practices, and contributes to their continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of programming experience in backend languages.
- 2+ years experience with GoLang (strongly preferred), PHP, Python, Java, or a similar language.
- 2+ years experience with MySQL or a similar technology.
- Strong understanding of database schema design, caching, and scalability.
- Strong understanding of various communication protocols (TCP, RPC, etc).
- Solid understanding of Distributed Systems.
- Workable understanding of Linux operating systems.
- Experience with modern CI/CD and containerization tools like Docker.
- Ability to perform time and memory complexity analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor's degree in CS, EE, SW, CE, MIS; equivalent experience; or a completed comprehensive software engineering boot camp.
- Experience in Caching technologies (e.g., Redis or Memcached).
- DevOps experience.
- Experience with Full-stack observability tools like New Relic is strongly preferred.

Benefits & Compensation
- Salary: $112,000.00 - $189,000.00
