Role Overview

In this role, you'll architect and maintain cloud-based systems that automate the ingestion, classification, and extraction of critical data from complex documents. You'll collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and architects to deliver solutions that power essential business operations with high accuracy and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain scalable backend services that support intelligent document workflows.
  • Build and deploy cloud-native applications on AWS using managed services to ensure security, resilience, and high availability.
  • Develop and refine automated pipelines for document processing, covering ingestion, classification, data extraction, and validation.
  • Take ownership of system performance, reliability, observability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Implement robust monitoring, logging, alerting, and fault-tolerant design patterns.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to turn business requirements into well-structured technical solutions.
  • Engage in system design discussions, code reviews, and architectural decision-making.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code practices.
  • Document technical designs, configurations, and operational procedures.
  • Explore new technologies and contribute to strategic planning for future capabilities.

Qualifications

Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, along with at least five years of professional software development experience. Strong coding skills in Python and either .NET or Java are essential. Experience building applications on AWS, working with distributed systems, and using CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code tools is required.

Preferred Experience

  • Background in Intelligent Document Processing or generative AI platforms for document analysis.
  • Familiarity with OCR, natural language processing, or machine learning systems.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • AWS certifications.
  • Knowledge of insurance or financial services document formats.
  • Experience working in agile environments.

Technical Environment

Python, .NET, Java, AWS, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code, Docker, Kubernetes, OCR, NLP, and machine learning technologies.

Work Model

This role operates in a hybrid format, requiring presence in one of the designated offices three days per week, specifically Tuesday through Thursday. Available locations include Columbus, OH; Chicago, IL; Hartford, CT; and Charlotte, NC.

Compensation & Benefits

The annual base salary ranges from $137,200 to $205,800. Additional compensation includes short-term and annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition rewards. Comprehensive benefits are available as outlined on the company website.
