As a Senior Software Engineer on the Tax Platform team, you'll lead the development of systems that handle complex tax reporting obligations at scale. Your work will ensure financial data is processed accurately, traceably, and in alignment with evolving regulatory standards across jurisdictions.
What You'll Do
- Design and maintain microservices in Golang that process high-volume financial events with precision and resilience.
- Model long-running tax workflows using Temporal to guarantee stateful execution and system reliability.
- Build and optimize data pipelines ingesting from Redpanda, focusing on data integrity, latency, and consistency.
- Translate regulatory and tax requirements into robust software solutions through close collaboration with legal, compliance, and product teams.
- Ensure systems are built with auditability and data lineage as core principles, supporting transparency for regulators.
- Lead by example in system design, testing strategies, and operational excellence, following a 'you build it, you run it' approach.
- Manage full lifecycle ownership—from CI/CD deployment with Jenkins and Terraform to monitoring and incident response.
What We're Looking For
- At least 5 years of experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems in production.
- Strong proficiency in Golang, including concurrency patterns, memory management, and idiomatic coding practices.
- Proven ability to design microservices and APIs using gRPC and Protobuf.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts across disciplines.
Nice to Have
- Experience with durable task orchestration platforms like Temporal, Cadence, or AWS Step Functions.
- Familiarity with event streaming systems such as Redpanda or Kafka.
- Production use of AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, and Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform.
- Background in FinTech, RegTech, or regulated financial systems involving compliance or reporting.
- Hands-on experience with observability stacks including Prometheus, Grafana, or distributed tracing.
