Lead the design and implementation of a high-impact integration platform for the U.S. Air Force, built on Google Cloud, Apigee, and Kubernetes. As a Senior Solutions Architect, you will define the technical direction for cloud-native systems that are secure, scalable, and resilient. Your work will directly support national defense missions through robust system architecture and hands-on collaboration with engineering and product teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end technical architecture of a cloud-based integration platform, ensuring alignment with mission objectives and operational requirements
- Design and oversee implementation of distributed, containerized systems using Kubernetes, Helm, and Kubectl
- Translate complex operational needs into practical technical solutions in partnership with engineers, architects, and stakeholders
- Guide decisions across cloud infrastructure, networking, service integration, and security protocols
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated, reliable deployments across multiple services
- Support engineering teams in troubleshooting and optimizing cloud-native applications
- Document architectural decisions, system designs, and configuration standards clearly and thoroughly
- Engage directly with client representatives to ensure timely delivery and technical alignment
- Provide technical leadership through both strategic guidance and hands-on contribution when necessary
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years in technical architecture or leadership roles focused on enterprise cloud systems
- Proven experience designing and managing cloud platforms on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Strong proficiency with Kubernetes and container orchestration tools
- Programming experience in typed languages such as Java, Kotlin, or C#
- Background in designing and operating distributed, cloud-native systems
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline development and automation workflows
- Knowledge of authentication and authorization standards including SAML and OAuth
- Professional cloud certification, ideally Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to work independently with client teams while integrating closely with internal engineering groups
- U.S. citizenship with eligibility to obtain a DoD Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with identity management platforms such as Keycloak
- Exposure to AI/ML platforms, particularly Vertex AI
- Background in database design and development
- Understanding of DevSecOps principles and practices
- Linux system administration, especially RHEL
- Familiarity with API management solutions, with Apigee experience a plus
- Agile development methodology experience
- Previous work supporting U.S. Federal or Department of Defense programs
