Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Senior System Administrator to manage and maintain critical data centre systems that support large-scale digital services across Europe. You will play a key role in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of infrastructure serving public sector clients, with a focus on European Institutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve complex system and infrastructure issues affecting servers, storage, or virtual environments.
- Deploy, configure, and upgrade core infrastructure software, including monitoring tools and virtualization platforms.
- Install, maintain, and support physical data centre components such as servers, enclosures, UPS systems, patch panels, tape libraries, and cabling infrastructure.
- Plan and schedule system installations and maintenance to avoid service interruptions.
- Monitor system performance, identify root causes of failures, and implement effective solutions for both hardware and software components.
- Follow established protocols to maintain system integrity, compliance, and cybersecurity standards.
Required Qualifications
- University degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in system administration and data centre operations.
- Extensive knowledge of data centre hardware and infrastructure components.
- Proficiency with Windows and Linux server operating systems.
- Strong experience with hypervisor technologies including VMware and Hyper-V.
- Deep understanding of network storage systems such as SAN and NAS, with familiarity in NetApp and EMC platforms.
- Experience in backup systems and centralized data protection strategies.
- Proven ability in racking, cabling, and configuring hardware in live data centre environments.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills and the ability to work autonomously under pressure.

- SolarWinds Certified Professional
- MCSE or MCSA for Windows Server 2012 or later
- Microsoft Azure Administrator certification
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or higher
- Linux Professional Institute LPIC-1 or above
- ITIL Certification
- Oracle Certified Professional for Oracle Linux
- VMware Certified Professional 5 – Cloud Management and Automation (VCP5-CMA) or newer
- NetApp Certified Data Administrator
- Dell Systems Administrator (DCS-SA) or Platform Engineer (DCS-PE)
- Disaster Recover Certified Specialist (DRCS)
