Role Overview
We’re seeking an experienced Senior or Lead Cloud Automation Developer to lead the design and implementation of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions. In this role, you'll automate cloud provisioning and configuration, develop reusable frameworks, and guide development teams through complex integration projects. You’ll collaborate directly with clients during presales and delivery phases, translating requirements into efficient, scalable implementations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement infrastructure-as-code solutions using programming languages such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or configuration tools like Terraform, Ansible, and SaltStack.
- Apply SOLID principles to build modular, maintainable libraries, scripts, templates, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Automate deployment, scaling, and monitoring of cloud environments using VMware Aria Suite and vCloud Director.
- Integrate VMware platforms with third-party systems via APIs to streamline operations and enhance interoperability.
- Engage with customers to assess technical needs, define solution scope, and support proposal development.
- Lead and mentor development teams—defining work breakdowns, reviewing contributions, and ensuring adherence to quality standards and best practices.
- Drive internal innovation by identifying optimization opportunities and advancing existing frameworks and automation processes.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in cloud automation, integration, and customization projects.
- Deep knowledge of at least one major cloud environment—VMware, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Proven expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies and tooling.
- Strong programming skills in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell) or object-oriented languages (Java, C#, NodeJS).
- Experience with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or ArgoCD.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts—IP addressing, routing, firewalls, DNS, and TCP/IP protocols.
- Track record leading teams in Agile or Scrum environments.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, particularly in international settings.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years in a technical leadership capacity.
- Knowledge of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and related VMware products, ideally supported by certifications.
- Experience supporting customers across the EMEA region.
- Background in designing or adapting technical solutions to meet evolving requirements.
