Role Overview

This position is a senior technical role within a high-availability operations team, responsible for ensuring the continuous performance and reliability of critical infrastructure systems. The analyst serves as a go-to resource during complex incidents, leading response efforts and guiding less experienced team members through resolution. The role is central to maintaining service uptime and supporting a culture of immediate action and accountability in incident management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary escalation point for incidents involving storage, UNIX systems, and backup technologies, providing expert-level support and minimizing resolution time
  • Lead real-time incident coordination during major outages, directing team actions and interfacing with engineering partners to restore services efficiently
  • Mentor junior analysts through technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and career development support
  • Develop and refine standard operating procedures, ensuring they reflect current best practices and operational realities
  • Drive improvements in monitoring effectiveness by tuning alerts and leveraging tools such as Datadog, Netcool, and Azure Data Explorer
  • Lead shift handover meetings to maintain seamless 24/7 coverage and ensure accurate transfer of operational context
  • Design and implement automation strategies using scripting (Bash, Python, PowerShell) and CI/CD pipelines to reduce manual effort and error
  • Conduct post-incident reviews to identify root causes and recommend preventive measures
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on system changes, offering operational insights to improve deployment success
  • Contribute to the Service Improvement Backlog with data-driven proposals that enhance system resilience and user experience
  • Support advanced infrastructure technologies including SAN/NAS storage (Pure, Hitachi, Scality), Linux (RedHat), Rubrik backup systems, and hybrid cloud environments
  • Use monitoring platforms to detect, diagnose, and resolve issues before they impact service delivery
  • Develop and maintain high-quality documentation and knowledge base content used across the operations team
  • Present operational achievements and improvements during service reviews with technical stakeholders
  • Champion continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies and leading optimization initiatives

Qualifications

Candidates should have at least six years of experience in technical operations or system administration. Proven expertise in troubleshooting enterprise systems—including UNIX/Linux, storage architectures, and backup solutions—is required. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential, particularly under pressure. Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, and GitHub, along with scripting proficiency, is highly valued. Familiarity with AI-assisted troubleshooting and LLM-based development tools supports efficiency in documentation and scripting tasks. Leadership experience in a round-the-clock operational setting is expected.

Technical Environment

The role operates across a broad infrastructure stack including RedHat Linux, Nutanix, Windows, SAN technologies (Brocade, Cisco MDS), cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), and monitoring tools such as Datadog, Tivoli, and Prism Central. Automation and CI/CD workflows are supported through GitHub, Ansible, and Jenkins. Scripting in Bash, Python, and PowerShell is integral to daily operations.
