Responsibilities
- Promote automation as the primary testing approach, reserving manual testing for rare exceptions.
- Build and expand automated test frameworks for API, UI, and end-to-end microservice validation using Node.js and Playwright.
- Develop performance and resilience test suites with Grafana k6 to evaluate distributed system behavior under load.
- Embed automated testing into GitHub Actions workflows to validate every commit, pull request, and deployment.
- Work closely with MCPs to validate Kafka event flows, Istio-based service mesh routing, and inter-service contracts.
- Enforce schema validation, access control checks, and dependency consistency across services.
- Simulate external system responses using tools like Microcks or Postman for reliable test environments.
- Drive adoption of test-driven development by integrating test templates into developer workflows.
- Enforce code coverage standards across code repositories to ensure comprehensive testing.
- Integrate security scanning and data integrity checks within test automation to catch vulnerabilities early.
- Develop observability dashboards using Grafana or Datadog to track quality, performance, and error trends.

- Integrate test execution and quality gates deeply into GitHub Actions, ensuring every commit, PR, and deployment is validated by automation.
- Collaborate closely with MCPs: Kafka event flows, service mesh routing (Istio), and inter-service contracts to design automated validation of message schemas, ACLs, and service dependencies.
- Mock endpoints with services like microcks or postman to simulate responses.
- Lead TDD adoption by embedding test scaffolds into developer workflows and enforcing test coverage standards across repositories.
- Embed security testing and data validation checks into automation frameworks for proactive vulnerability detection.
- Create test observability dashboards (via Grafana or Datadog) that expose quality metrics alongside performance and error budgets.
- Perform exploratory testing to supplement automation with contextual discovery and edge-case validation.
- Collaborate with developers, SREs, and product managers to drive a shared understanding of quality across environments.
