Join a forward-thinking engineering team where financial insight meets technical execution. In this role, you'll design and maintain software that powers critical financial operations, bridging the gap between accounting principles and scalable system architecture. Your background in accounting or financial analysis will directly inform how systems handle reconciliation, reporting, and compliance, ensuring solutions are both technically sound and financially accurate.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and enhance backend systems that support financial processing, with a focus on automation and data integrity.
- Collaborate with engineers, product, and finance teams to refine workflows and eliminate inefficiencies.
- Apply your understanding of financial operations to improve how software handles transaction matching, reporting cycles, and audit readiness.
- Design and implement APIs and database interactions using modern engineering practices and robust testing.
- Contribute throughout the development lifecycle—from concept to deployment—ensuring systems meet performance, security, and compliance standards.
- Use tools like GitLab CI/CD, Kubernetes, and AWS to build reliable, observable services integrated with monitoring platforms.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in accounting, auditing, or financial analysis, with a clear understanding of reconciliation and financial controls.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Go, Python, or Java, with experience building and maintaining backend services.
- Familiarity with relational databases including MySQL and PostgreSQL, and experience modeling financial data effectively.
- Knowledge of software development methodologies, version control, and testing practices—unit, integration, and end-to-end.
- Degree in Accounting, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
Technology Environment
You'll work with a modern stack including Golang, Python, React, and React Native for frontend needs. Backend services run on AWS using Amazon Aurora and are orchestrated via Kubernetes. Monitoring and observability are powered by Grafana, Prometheus, and Loki. The team uses Git, GitLab CI/CD, and a strong testing culture across unit, integration, and end-to-end levels.
Culture & Values
This is a role for someone who thrives in high-velocity settings and values direct communication. We operate with transparency, expect ownership, and encourage questioning assumptions to drive better outcomes. Success here means delivering quality results under pressure, learning from setbacks, and committing fully to team decisions—even after respectful debate.
Compensation & Work Environment
This is a local position based in Chile, with a gross monthly salary range of $2,800 to $6,000 USD. The role offers strong growth potential within a culture that values skill development and initiative. You’ll work in an environment that prioritizes speed, innovation, and accountability, with the freedom to propose new approaches and take ownership of outcomes.
