Responsibilities
- Own the application layer of the CertifyOS platform — the full-stack systems that translate provider data infrastructure into products used by payers, health systems, and digital health companies.
- Define how the application layer is structured, including how the frontend and backend evolve together.
- Design API contracts for external consumers.
- Set engineering practices that govern application development as the team scales.
- Drive technical strategy and shape engineering culture.
- Set patterns that other engineers build on.
- Architect application patterns such as optimistic UI, async job tracking, and real-time status updates via WebSockets or SSE to make long-running workflows feel fast and reliable.
- Own the performance boundary between the data layer and the product, including query latency, pagination strategy, and caching architecture.
- Define how AI capabilities integrate into the application layer, including latency handling, fallback behavior, streaming UX patterns, and eval instrumentation.
