Shape the future of client transfers through data
We’re seeking a Staff Data Scientist to lead analytical strategy for Account Transfers, a critical part of our client journey. You’ll work across complex systems to identify root causes of friction, design scalable models, and deliver insights that directly improve transfer success, client experience, and operational efficiency.
What You’ll Do
- Lead end-to-end analytical and modeling initiatives, from problem framing to productionized solutions, in a high-impact, ambiguous domain.
- Analyze large, heterogeneous datasets to surface systemic issues, behavioral patterns, and opportunities for improvement in transfer workflows.
- Develop predictive and prescriptive models using techniques like clustering, causal inference, and anomaly detection to guide product and operational decisions.
- Design data frameworks that enable early risk detection and proactive intervention for at-risk client transfers.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Operations to embed analytics into product roadmaps, decision tools, and client-facing experiences.
- Build and deploy machine learning models, dashboards, and decision systems that integrate directly into operational workflows.
- Quantify impact by linking analytical work to key outcomes such as conversion, retention, and operational throughput.
- Establish modeling and experimentation standards within the domain and influence broader data strategy.
- Mentor senior data scientists and elevate analytical practices across teams.
What We’re Looking For
- 7–10+ years of experience in data science, applied statistics, or operations research, with 3–5 years at a senior or staff level.
- Proven experience in complex operational domains such as transfers, payments, or compliance workflows.
- Strong foundation in operations research methods—including optimization, simulation, or queuing theory—to improve real-world systems.
- Expertise in statistical inference, experimental design, and modeling on messy, real-world data.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python, with experience building production-grade analytical pipelines.
- Skill in translating technical findings into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
- History of delivering measurable business or client impact through data-driven solutions.
- Experience mentoring technical peers and raising the quality of analytical work in a team environment.
- Ability to operate independently, make decisions under uncertainty, and navigate ambiguity.
