Responsibilities
- Develop scalable and dependable systems to enhance or automate business decision-making processes
- Utilize diverse data science methods and domain knowledge to tackle complex challenges where solutions are not clearly defined
- Extract data by creating SQL and ETL queries and setting up import workflows via internal interfaces for S3, RedShift, and Spark platforms
- Examine data for patterns and accuracy by reviewing individual variable distributions, analyzing pairwise relationships, applying transformations, and identifying the causes of irregularities
- Construct models using techniques such as statistical analysis, econometrics, network analysis, natural language processing, machine learning, genetic algorithms, and neural networks
- Assess model performance by comparing against alternative methods, anticipated results, actual outcomes, and key business metrics
- Deploy models while considering computational efficiency, precision, and stability of ETL pipelines across production phases
- Apply advanced machine learning techniques within generative AI frameworks, develop proof-of-concept prototypes, resolve client issues, and investigate novel approaches
- Engage directly with clients and academic partners to foster innovation and deliver customized analytical solutions
- Form strong connections with internal stakeholders to identify operational needs and convert them into data-driven strategies
- Work closely with engineering, analytics, artificial intelligence, and product teams to ensure alignment of models with organizational objectives
- Present insights and modeling outcomes in a clear, accessible way to non-technical leadership, ensuring recommendations are practical and well-understood
- Define and promote best practices and modeling standards to improve the rigor and consistency of analytical outputs across the team
- Guide early- and mid-career data scientists in developing technical skills, confidence, and business impact
- Adopt a forward-thinking AI approach in daily tasks, leveraging modern AI tools like Claude and Cursor to increase output quality and speed
