Shape the future of our cloud platform through technical leadership. As a Staff Engineer in Product Architecture, you'll take ownership of a key domain within our cloud infrastructure, guiding its evolution from concept to implementation. Your role is central to defining how services interact, how data flows are structured, and how systems scale reliably over time.
What You’ll Do
- Lead architectural direction for a specific product domain, ensuring designs support both immediate goals and long-term adaptability.
- Translate business and technical requirements into robust system designs, clearly articulating trade-offs in performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Establish service boundaries, integration patterns, and data models that align with platform-wide standards.
- Drive consensus on critical technical decisions, balancing delivery speed with system integrity and scalability.
- Review architectural proposals within your team and domain, promoting consistency and raising the overall quality of system design.
- Collaborate with platform architects and peer domain owners to align on shared interfaces and cross-cutting concerns.
- Work closely with senior engineers to clarify complex problems and support effective execution.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience designing and maintaining complex software systems at scale.
- Track record of owning architectural decisions within a product or domain, balancing delivery with technical sustainability.
- Ability to bridge product goals and platform constraints, navigating trade-offs with clarity and pragmatism.
- Skill in guiding teams toward strong architectural outcomes through collaboration and influence.
- Comfort operating in evolving environments where standards and processes are still maturing.
- Motivation to build systems that evolve gracefully over time, not just meet short-term needs.
Preferred Background
- Experience designing cloud-native architectures that integrate multiple services and systems.
- Strong judgment in evaluating trade-offs—such as time-to-market versus correctness or flexibility versus complexity.
- Collaborative mindset, focused on helping teams reach alignment without top-down mandates.
Work Environment
This role operates in a hybrid mode, offering flexibility to work from home or the office. You may spend up to 30 days per year working remotely from outside your home country. We support remote work and provide relocation assistance where applicable.
