We're looking for a seasoned Infrastructure Engineer to lead the development and operation of our core database systems. You'll be responsible for building and scaling stateful database services—including ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, and Opensearch—on Kubernetes, supporting a platform that manages massive event throughput across global environments.
What You'll Do
- Architect and manage large-scale ClickHouse deployments on Kubernetes, ensuring resilience and efficiency
- Operate and automate multiple database technologies in containerized environments
- Design and implement self-service provisioning, scaling, backup, and recovery systems
- Develop Kubernetes operators and custom controllers to streamline database operations
- Use Terraform and Infrastructure as Code to manage complex environments consistently
- Drive performance optimization and capacity planning for distributed data systems
- Lead incident resolution and post-incident reviews to strengthen system reliability
- Partner with data and application teams to shape scalable, maintainable architectures
- Build internal tools to enhance monitoring, alerting, and operational visibility
What We're Looking For
- Over a decade of experience in infrastructure or database engineering
- Deep familiarity with Kubernetes for stateful applications, including operators and persistent storage
- Strong Linux systems expertise, with a focus on performance analysis and debugging
- Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform
- Solid grasp of distributed systems, replication, and fault tolerance
- Track record of building automation to reduce toil and improve system stability
- Hands-on cloud experience, preferably on AWS
- Strong problem-solving skills and composure during critical incidents
Nice to Have
- Production experience with ClickHouse at scale
- Working knowledge of PostgreSQL, Opensearch, or Redis
- Programming experience in Golang or Python for infrastructure tooling
- Familiarity with Kafka, VictoriaMetrics, ArgoCD, or Vault
- Contributions to open-source database or infrastructure projects
- Understanding of sharding, replication topologies, and high-availability strategies
