As a Staff Software Engineer, you'll play a central role in developing a next-generation healthcare platform powered by artificial intelligence. Working within a remote-first, globally distributed team, you'll take ownership of fullstack features from initial concept through deployment and monitoring, ensuring robust, scalable solutions that directly impact patient care and operational efficiency.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain responsive web applications using React, TypeScript, and GraphQL, focusing on performance, usability, and maintainability.
- Lead end-to-end project execution, making key architectural decisions and driving implementation with a high degree of autonomy.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code or Cursor to improve coding speed, accuracy, and overall development workflow.
- Collaborate closely with product and design teams to refine features based on user feedback and clinical workflows.
- Optimize system reliability, security, and scalability across cloud infrastructure, primarily on AWS.
- Conduct thorough code reviews and help shape engineering standards within an agile, iterative environment.
- Stay informed on advancements in AI, fullstack engineering, and healthcare technology to guide product evolution.
What We're Looking For
- At least five years of professional software engineering experience, with deep involvement in fullstack JavaScript or TypeScript applications.
- Strong command of React, TypeScript, and GraphQL, with a track record of delivering high-quality web applications.
- Experience using AI-enhanced IDEs to streamline development processes.
- Proven ability to own complex projects and deliver them efficiently in fast-moving environments.
- Skilled at diagnosing and resolving technical issues across frontend and backend systems.
- Excellent communication abilities and a collaborative mindset, with a focus on action and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Background
- Experience in healthcare technology or SaaS platforms.
- Familiarity with Node.js and Apollo Server for GraphQL backend development.
- Working knowledge of AWS services and CI/CD pipelines.
- Active contributions to open-source projects or personal fullstack applications.
Compensation & Benefits
This role offers a base salary between $150,000 and $220,000, depending on experience, along with stock options in a growing company.
