Lead the technical vision for financial technology systems in the Middle East as a Staff Software Engineer. You will define architecture, establish engineering best practices, and guide the development of robust, scalable platforms that meet both business and regulatory demands.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement foundational systems using Go or comparable languages, setting long-term technical direction
- Develop event-driven architectures, message queuing solutions, and asynchronous processing models adopted across teams
- Build and maintain APIs and integrations critical to financial operations, ensuring performance, reliability, and compliance
- Optimize large-scale systems by identifying bottlenecks and deploying efficient, sustainable solutions
- Ensure software and infrastructure align with regional regulatory requirements, including data residency and compliance standards
- Define coding, testing, and design standards that elevate code quality and maintainability organization-wide
- Lead multi-team technical initiatives from concept through deployment, establishing repeatable patterns and frameworks
- Serve as the go-to expert for complex technical challenges, offering strategic insights across architecture, scalability, and system design
- Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to align software needs with deployment capabilities and vendor services
- Establish vendor engagement strategies, oversee SLAs, and coordinate technical discussions with cloud providers and managed service partners
- Travel regionally for on-site coordination, technical reviews, and infrastructure alignment when necessary
- Mentor engineers at all levels through code reviews, pair programming, and technical workshops
- Share expertise via documentation, presentations, and architectural guidance to strengthen organizational knowledge
- Drive continuous improvement by evaluating trade-offs in performance, cost, and maintainability when recommending technical solutions
