Responsibilities
- Improve the reliability, scalability, feature set, speed, and cost-efficiency of cloud storage systems built on Ceph
- Engage in architectural planning and design choices for Ceph-powered storage platforms
- Build and refine automated systems to manage and maintain Ceph storage infrastructure
- Enhance current monitoring tools and alerting mechanisms for better system visibility
- Maintain and expand internal technical documentation and shared knowledge resources
- Oversee storage infrastructure to uphold service uptime and consistent performance
- Coordinate with networking and operations units for system scaling and scheduled maintenance
- Assess emerging technologies, advanced storage capabilities, and improved operational practices to boost productivity
- Investigate and implement innovative features for Ceph-based cloud storage solutions
- Attend team and cross-team meetings as needed
- Support onboarding through job shadowing for new team members or colleagues
- Communicate clearly and efficiently across departments
- Balance independent work with collaboration among team members and project partners

Responsibilities
- Continually enhance the Ceph-based Cloud Storage System in terms of stability, scalability, functionality, performance and cost
- Actively participate in the design and architecture decisions for Ceph-based Cloud Storage
- Develop automation framework and improvements for our Ceph-based Cloud Storage infrastructure
- Optimize existing metrics collection and alerting systems
- Contribute to our internal documentation and knowledge base
- Monitor Cloud Storage infrastructure to ensure high availability and reliability of our services
- Partner with Network and Operations teams for capacity expansion and maintenance windows
- Evaluate new technologies, advance storage features and new operational methodology to drive efficiency and effectiveness
- Research and Develop cutting edge features for Ceph-based Cloud Storage
- Participate in meetings as required
- Job shadowing of new hires or other team members as required
- Effectively communicate cross-functionally
- Work independently as well as collaborate with team members and project stakeholders
