Role Overview
As a Technical Support Engineer, you will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving technical challenges reported by customers. Your work ensures systems operate efficiently and customer concerns are addressed promptly and thoroughly. You’ll engage in both reactive issue resolution and proactive improvements to enhance overall service quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and prioritize incoming support requests to determine urgency and scope
- Diagnose and resolve technical problems related to platform functionality, integration, and performance
- Collaborate with fellow support specialists to share insights and assist with complex cases
- Engage in the customer community by responding to technical inquiries and sharing guidance
- Document solutions, root causes, and best practices to strengthen internal knowledge and customer resources
- Test platform updates and provide actionable feedback to development teams
- Act as a technical authority in troubleshooting and validation processes
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or equivalent practical experience
- Minimum of three years in a technical role with demonstrated expertise in areas such as networking, security, systems operations, or scripting
- Proven ability to learn and master new technologies quickly
- Strong analytical skills with the capacity to deconstruct complex problems and communicate solutions clearly
- Ability to work independently, manage tasks efficiently, and seek guidance only when necessary
- Sound judgment in evaluating trade-offs and making timely, effective decisions
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field
- Hands-on experience with Tanium or similar enterprise systems
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, MCSE, or CompTIA (A+, Security+, Network+)
- Practical knowledge in endpoint security, incident response, systems management, or utility scripting (bash, PowerShell, VBScript, Python)
Technical Environment
You’ll work across a range of technologies including scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, bash), endpoint security tools, systems management platforms, and core IT operations frameworks.
