This role focuses on the integration and configuration of transmission infrastructure within complex, multi-vendor environments. The engineer executes network builds, implements changes, and resolves technical issues to maintain service integrity and performance across regional and international networks.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve configuration faults, escalating planning discrepancies as needed to preserve network accuracy.
- Follow established change control procedures and apply detailed design documentation to configuration tasks.
- Utilize procedural guidelines and system data from Cramer to manage IP allocations, circuit provisioning, and Remedy ticket updates.
- Provision circuits for new radio access network sites and modernize existing services in alignment with operational demands.
- Deploy Ethernet connectivity for enterprise clients and execute hardware expansions on Infinera MPLS platforms.
- Contribute to large-scale transmission initiatives, coordinating with teams across geographies and time zones.
Qualifications and Expertise
Candidates should bring at least seven years of hands-on experience in transmission networking. Proficiency is required in L3 NNI proof of concept hardening, NNI access transitions, EMC trunk migrations, and SIAE microwave technologies. Experience integrating and replacing Infinera MPLS nodes, adjusting bandwidth capacity, and deploying new services is essential. Familiarity with MPLS traffic distribution, load balancing strategies, and fault resolution in intricate network topologies is expected. Strong analytical capabilities, clear communication skills, and the ability to engage stakeholders effectively are critical. The role demands adaptability, sound technical judgment, and creative problem-solving in evolving environments.
Technology Environment
The position leverages Infinera MPLS platforms, Ethernet service provisioning, IP address management, Cramer, Remedy, Methods of Procedure (MoP), L3 NNI configurations, EMC trunking, SIAE microwave systems, and MPLS load balancing techniques.
Professional Development and Collaboration
This role offers direct involvement in maintaining network reliability through technical execution and process adherence. Engineers will work alongside global planning and engineering units, gaining exposure to advanced integration practices and diverse vendor ecosystems. The position strengthens capabilities in troubleshooting, decision-making, and cross-cultural coordination within a live, high-availability network environment.
