Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate general ledger entries and account reconciliations
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing procedures
  • Generate financial statements and internal reporting packages
  • Assist in audit coordination with external auditors
  • Monitor and classify expenses across departments
  • Collaborate with teams to resolve accounting discrepancies
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and policies
  • Track and report on key financial metrics
  • Manage fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules
  • Review vendor invoices and coding accuracy
  • Assist in budget preparation and forecasting activities
  • Maintain documentation for financial transactions
  • Identify process improvements in accounting workflows
  • Support intercompany transaction reporting
  • Apply consistent accounting standards across operations
  • Respond to internal inquiries regarding financial data
  • Participate in system upgrades and financial software projects
  • Ensure timely submission of financial reports
  • Evaluate accounting policies for regulatory adherence
  • Assist in tax preparation documentation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • Minimum of three years of professional accounting experience
  • Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Proven track record in month-end close processes
  • Detail-oriented with high accuracy standards
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines efficiently
  • Experience in audit support roles preferred
  • Familiarity with internal control frameworks
  • Proficiency in financial statement preparation
  • Knowledge of fixed asset accounting principles
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Problem-solving skills applied to financial data
  • Experience in a fast-growing company environment
  • Self-directed with ability to work independently
  • Organized approach to documentation and recordkeeping
  • Adaptability to changing financial systems
  • Understanding of intercompany accounting concepts

  • Experience in the insurance or pet care industry
