Xinnovit is hiring an UNIX-Linux System Admin

Requirements

  • Provide 24 x 7 project support for the client
  • Perform administrative functions of Linux/RedHat (hardware and software)
  • Support vendor supported tools and IBM standard tools
  • Maintain servers in accordance to customer agreed upon security settings
  • In-depth knowledge of multiple OEM HW and versions of the OEM OS
  • Resolve complex issues
  • Experience in data center relocations
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • High hands on experience with Linux RedHat OS
  • Must have primary UNIX skills on Linux/RedHat/Solaris/AIX platforms
  • Hands on experience with hardware configurations and device support
  • Possess hands-on knowledge of hardware configuration
  • Knowledge of EOL (End Of Life) HW and HCM (Hardware Compatibility Matrix)
  • Advance installation kickstart server or local repository configuration and installation
  • Hands-on experience in kickstart installation techniques or local repository creation to support mass rollout of server builds
  • Operating System Configuration/Tuning: very good hands-on routine Linux/RedHat/Solaris/AIX System administration experience
  • Clustering: RedHat/Veritas Clustering skills required
  • Volume/Storage/File system Management: knowledge of LVM, ext3, HBA config, SAN, Disk config, Mirroring, RAID, Multi-pathing
  • Network Management Skills: working knowledge of NIC config, Link Aggregation/bridging, Routing, VLAN
  • Scripting: ability to automate a process to facilitate working on many servers
  • Patching and package management: ability to obtain patches and packages to keep servers up to date, add hardware or functionality

Nice to Have

  • Candidates who have more than one OS platform skills would get preference
  • Virtualization: OVM, XEN, KVM, or VMWARE knowledge preferred
  • Security Analyst FDA Knowledge is a plus
  • Candidates who have more than one OS platform skills would get preference (reiterated for Solaris, AIX or HPUX)

  • 24 x 7 project support required
  • Must be able to respond to/support critical situations (Crit Sit)
  • Ability to work independently (self-starter) and in team environment
