About the Role

Position Overview

This role is for an experienced water resources professional to lead market strategy and technical delivery within the West Region. As a Principal-level leader, you will shape the direction of water resources services, focusing on expanding client relationships and advancing project outcomes in water supply, groundwater and surface water modeling, water rights, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to target industrial, municipal, and commercial clients needing water availability, reuse, and permitting solutions
  • Act as Client Account Manager for priority water resources accounts
  • Direct complex projects from scoping through delivery, ensuring technical quality, budget adherence, and client satisfaction
  • Lead hydrogeologic assessments, aquifer modeling, and groundwater supply development initiatives
  • Oversee design and implementation of groundwater monitoring, aquifer storage and recovery (ASR), and surface recharge systems
  • Manage permitting processes related to water rights and regulatory compliance
  • Prepare and review technical reports, proposals, plans, and specifications
  • Recruit, supervise, and mentor early-career and mid-level engineers and scientists
  • Represent the firm at conferences, professional societies, and client meetings to strengthen visibility and credibility
  • Contribute to the advancement of the field through publications, presentations, or leadership roles
  • Travel to project sites and client locations as needed, using personal or rental vehicles

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Water Resources, Hydrogeology, Civil or Environmental Engineering, or a related earth science field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent licensure in relevant discipline
  • Proven experience in water resources project leadership, including modeling, permitting, and supply development
  • Demonstrated success in business development and client relationship management
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage concurrent projects
  • Commitment to mentoring staff and advancing technical excellence
