Scale Army is hiring a Web Developer to play a key role in building and maintaining high-quality digital experiences that reflect craftsmanship and creativity. In this fully remote position, you will work closely with designers and engineers to bring innovative, user-centered ideas to life.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain custom WordPress themes, including building Gutenberg blocks and performing site maintenance.
- Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code using HTML, CSS, SCSS, and Vanilla JS.
- Implement A/B testing and front-end optimizations to enhance user experience and conversion performance.
- Ensure responsiveness and cross-browser compatibility across all web projects.
- Partner with designers and engineers to translate project requirements into functional, visually compelling websites and applications.
- Manage multiple concurrent development projects while maintaining quality and timelines.
- Suggest improvements to development processes and contribute ideas for design or performance enhancements.
- Conduct code reviews to maintain coding standards, structure, and consistency across projects.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Contribute to internal tooling by developing and maintaining shared libraries to streamline future development work.
What We're Looking For
- 3–4 years of hands-on front-end development experience (HTML, CSS, Vanilla JS).
- Proven background in PHP and WordPress development (custom themes and Gutenberg blocks).
- Experience with A/B testing, UI optimization, and responsive design.
- Comfortable working remotely within cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects independently.
- Strong sense of ownership, craftsmanship, and attention to detail.
- Ability to think creatively and approach challenges with innovative solutions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills within a distributed team environment.
- Quality-driven mindset focused on clean, scalable, and maintainable code.
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of working effectively without micromanagement.
- User-focused approach, passionate about creating intuitive, meaningful digital experiences.
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
