About the Role

PGTEK is looking for a Technical Writer to join a large-scale, fast-paced program focused on a data center modernization project. You will be responsible for transforming draft technical content into clear, consistent, and standardized documentation for a broad technical audience. This is a fully remote role.

What You'll Do

  • Edit, format, and standardize technical documents using established templates.
  • Create documentation templates as needed.
  • Produce and maintain technical designs, installation instructions, configuration guides, runbooks, and playbooks.
  • Ensure all documents adhere to consistent grammar, spelling, formatting, and readability standards.
  • Manage document version control within project repositories like SharePoint.
  • Coordinate with technical team members to obtain clarification, updates, and missing information.
  • Route documents to content owners for review and approval.
  • Publish approved documentation according to project manager guidance.
  • Support a large, fast-moving project with tight timelines.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong experience using technical writing and editing tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of Information Technology systems to understand technical content and context.
  • Ability to quickly understand draft technical materials and translate them into clear documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating with distributed teams.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working on large government or enterprise IT programs.
  • Familiarity with structured documentation standards and repositories.

You'll be supporting a large-scale technical program, working with distributed teams to deliver critical documentation under tight deadlines.

  • Compensation: $70,000 – $95,000
