Role Overview
We’re building robust backend systems at the intersection of AI and compliance, and we need an experienced engineer to lead the way. In this role, you’ll design and implement distributed services that are secure, highly available, and built to scale. You'll work closely with engineers across product, data, and infrastructure to shape the foundation of our platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and develop distributed systems, microservices, and backend components with a focus on resilience and performance.
- Establish and uphold engineering standards across the backend technology stack.
- Build and maintain containerized applications deployed on Kubernetes environments.
- Write clean, maintainable code primarily in Python and JavaScript.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to improve CI/CD pipelines, observability, and infrastructure automation.
- Apply secure coding practices and integrate threat modeling into system design.
- Optimize services for efficiency, low latency, and long-term maintainability.
- Guide junior engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge sharing.
- Lead technical decision-making and help define the engineering roadmap.
What We’re Looking For
You have at least five years of experience building production-level software systems in high-performing engineering environments. You’ve worked extensively with cloud-native platforms and have a strong command of distributed systems, API design, and microservices architecture.
Proficiency in Python and JavaScript is essential, along with hands-on experience using Docker, Kubernetes, and modern CI/CD workflows. You understand how to build for security, scalability, and operational clarity from the ground up.
Familiarity with compliance frameworks like SOC2 or ISO27001 is a plus, as is experience writing infrastructure-as-code. While not required, knowledge of C# can be beneficial for specific performance-critical components.
We value clear communication, technical mentorship, and the ability to thrive in fast-moving, collaborative settings. If you’re passionate about building reliable systems that matter, this role offers the chance to shape both technology and team direction.
